OVERVIEW

This is a very varied beat, offering great salmon, sea trout (sewin) and wild brown trout fishing. The bottom 200 metres of the beat is tree-lined, rather slow and deep in places. Over most of the beat, however, the riverbank is clear of trees, making it possible for less experienced anglers to fish from the banks.

There are a couple of great salmon runs and pools along the beat, including Pwll Lantarn. Beyond this, however, there are a myriad of glides and runs that all present species may be intercepted. A few grayling have made an appearance over the years too.

There is a lot of shade on the middle section of the beat, which makes for great trout fishing on the sunniest of days.

The beat is around 1.25 miles long in total, all of which is right bank based.

BEST FOR

A great all-round beat for all present species. Some of the best trout fishing to be found on the Teifi, interspersed with lovely pools, glides and runs that will produce both salmon and sea trout (sewin). Some grayling have also been recorded over the years.

ACCESS

There is limited parking on a verge beside a small tributary bridge in the village of Rhuddlan. There is parking for a maximum of two cars. However, other laybys exist nearby that can be utilised, as long as you are not blocking any access.

Access to the beat is now over a stile located next to the small bridge. This brings you onto the lowest part of the beat.
